Anne has over 30 years’ experience working as a paralegal focusing on corporate and tax work, the last fifteen years in a law office dedicated exclusively to corporate tax planning. She has also taught Corporate Law at Bow Valley College Legal Assistant Program.
Anne moved to Calgary in 1995 and became an integral part of her husband’s large family business which gave her first-hand experience of the unique challenges that families face when they work together. Anne saw that things like family dynamics, communications and sound planning were vital to a business’ stability and growth, and key to succession – yet were rarely addressed. Working with family businesses in the law firm showed Anne that these challenges were not unique to her family’s business. Anne obtained her designation as a Family Enterprise Advisor to assist families with these needs.
She helps family business clients address their unique challenges and engage the intrinsic processes that are key to a family enterprise. Family businesses often need tax restructuring as part of their estate plan. Anne combines her in-depth understanding of corporate law and tax planning with her family facilitation skills to help build a stronger foundation for the business while working to strengthen the family’s legacy.
